Exciting Chess Engines Match

Chess.com is holding a tournament for chess engines! Click the image below to read more about it.

I ran a mini tournament of my own. Using my free and cheap engines. I picked four engines. Komodo 9, Stockfish 8, Deep Fritz 14, and Fire 5. Not many games were conclusive. They were played at blitz time limits of 5 minutes with a 3 second add bonus per move. I limited the games to 120 ply or 60 moves. That may have contributed to the lack of results but mostly they looked like draws. Stockfish and Komodo each did finally score a win to move on to the final. Here are those games.

So Stockfish and Komodo faced off for seven games without a win. I’ll match them up another time.
